In 1993, Lakeland Regional High School started an Ice Hockey program for the first time in school history. The inaugural season was played at the JV level but the program immediately moved to Varsity the following season. Under coach Marty Hughes, the high school program began to have immediate success and established itself as one of the most consistent programs in the area. Since the first season 23 years ago, Lakeland has made the State Tournament 19 times, won the Passaic County Tournament in 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017, has won League Cup Titles in 2002 and 2010 and League Division Titles in 2001, 2002 and 2016.

Lakeland currently plays in the Big North Liberty Stripes Division out of the Ice Vault in Wayne, New Jersey. The program offers both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.
